Laneige Water Bank Moisture Essence [REVIEW]

Ah a brand that I can't really afford unless it's given to me as a sample. Laneige, although not the most high-end kbeauty brand out there, is a step up from the brands that I usually frequent. I was really lucky to receive this as a sample for simply posting an Instagram post about them (saw the promo when I was walking past the shop and couldn't resist). Now, I'm aware that the moisture essence is targeted at people with dry skin, and the hydro essence (which I also got but have yet to try) for oily skin, thus I have to say it might not work that well on me as I have the latter. However, at the point of time where I started to use the product, I was suffering from sunburns that were peeling off (v painful!!) and I didn't have any aloe vera gel with me so I decided to apply some of this instead. Not sure if you're supposed to do that but it really did cool my skin down; I really loved the cooling sensation it gave!
Product Info:
30ml/70ml (for the actual product size; mine was 10ml since it's a sample, which I thought was actually already quite a lot)
moisturiser
suitable for dry skin
claims to not only increase moisture in skin, but also decrease loss of moisture (fortify skin moisture barrier)
(here is the link to the actual product page in case you're interested in the ingredients list/how to use/more product info)
How I used the product:
I first cleansed my face and applied toner, before applying this all over my face.
Product's effect:
Like mentioned above, it helped soothe my sunburns a lot; I was really grateful for this product back then. Now that I'm back in Singapore, I don't use it so often anymore, but whenever I used it I could feel that my skin became softer and felt more moisturised.
Another thing I really liked was that it was dispensed using a pump, which made it really easy to control how much product I wanted and is also hygienic. The moisturiser itself was actually quite watery, but was absorbed into the skin really well. Plus points for the clean and pleasant smell (idk how to describe it HAHA it just smells clean and good)!
Also, honestly 10ml lasted me for quite a long time, seeing how I only needed 2-3 pumps for my entire face each time. I would've thought that it would run out quickly as the bottle size was really quite small but it really exceeded my expectations.
Product Rating:
Effectiveness: 8/10
Price: 4/10
Rebuy Value: 2/10
Other Comments:
Though it was pretty decent, it was nothing extremely impressive such that I would break the bank and repurchase it with my own money. At about $60 (SGD) for 60ml from sites like Sephora and Tangs, I feel like the price is a bit too exorbitant especially for a student like me. Of course, it must be said that I am likely not the target audience for Laneige (searching this up actually brought me to a link about Laneige's marketing plan which is pretty interesting HAHA), which tends to be a mid-range to high end brand. Nevertheless, I am really grateful for the generosity of Korean brands when it comes to giving out samples.
